On the morning of May 18, the opening ceremony of the Special Training Program on Appropriate Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Techniques, jointly organized by Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM) and the SCO Precision Medicine Innovation Working Committee, was successfully held at the university.
Attendees included Chen Yunhui, Deputy Dean of the Kihi School of Health and Rehabilitation Medicine; Chen Qiu, Deputy Dean of our hospital; Li Xia, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Precision Medicine Innovation Working Committee of the SCO Countries Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform; Gayar, head of the delegation from the Russian Association of Reflexologists; and the Russian trainees.
Chen Qiu provided an overview of the university and our hospital, highlighting CDUTCM's achievements over its 70-year history and its international cooperation and exchanges. He noted that in July of the previous year, President Zeng Fang led a delegation to visit the SCO Countries Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform, and that this training program represents a further deepening of practical cooperation between the two sides. Sichuan Province is renowned as the "hometown of TCM and a treasure house of Chinese medicinal herbs." Promoting appropriate TCM techniques is a key initiative to leverage Sichuan's unique TCM advantages and advance the global reach of TCM. He encouraged all trainees to immerse themselves in the fertile ground of TCM in the Tianfu region, experience the cultural charm of TCM, and systematically study appropriate TCM techniques.
The two-week specialized training program will be delivered by experts and scholars from the Clinical Medicine School and the School of Acupuncture and Tuina. It will combine theoretical lectures, clinical internships, and case-based discussions to help trainees intensively learn appropriate TCM techniques.
