Successful Conclusion of the Cooperation Meeting Between Our Hospital and the National Institute of Complementary Medicine of Western Sydney University, Australia

On the afternoon of May 18, 2026, the cooperation meeting between the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM) of Western Sydney University, Australia, was successfully held in the conference room of the Famous TCM Specialists' Center for Preventive Treatment. Chinese and Australian experts and scholars gathered together to explore new pathways for international cooperation in the fields of Traditional Chinese Medicine and complementary medicine.

At the meeting, Professor Fan Xiaohong, Executive Vice President (presiding over administrative work) of our hospital, first delivered a welcome speech. He extended a warm welcome to Professor Zhang Xudong, Dean of NICM, and his delegation, briefly introduced the hospital's strengths in TCM heritage and innovation, clinical diagnosis and treatment, and research platform development, and expressed the hope that this meeting would serve as an opportunity to establish a long-term exchange and cooperation bridge, achieving resource sharing and mutual complementarity of advantages.

Professor Wu Wenbin, Vice President of our hospital, provided a detailed overview of the hospital's overall development, specialized department construction, talent training system, and the operation of key research platforms such as the GCP Center and the Evidence-Based Medicine Center. He comprehensively demonstrated the hospital's comprehensive strengths and development achievements in TCM modernization, evidence-based medicine research, and clinical trial research.

Professor Zhang Xudong, Dean of NICM at Western Sydney University, delivered a speech introducing the institute's disciplinary layout, academic research directions, and international cooperation experience. He highly recognized the unique value and application prospects of TCM in the field of complementary medicine.

The participants from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics including academic research, personnel exchanges, joint applications for research projects, international promotion of TCM, and coordinated development of clinical trials and evidence-based medicine. They openly exchanged views and built consensus on cooperation. The meeting atmosphere was lively, and the exchanges were pragmatic and efficient.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides jointly signed the meeting minutes, further clarifying the direction of subsequent cooperation and preliminary plans, and took a group photo to mark the occasion.
