From July 19 to 26, the Taiwan Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Teachers and Students Study Visit, hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and organized by our hospital, was held in Chengdu. A delegation of TCM teachers and students from Taiwan conducted an eight-day visit and exchange in Chengdu, gaining an in-depth understanding of Sichuan’s achievements in the inheritance, innovation and development of TCM through special lectures, seminars, site visits and cultural experiences.

During the event, the delegation successively visited our hospital, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the Museum of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Sichuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Comprehensive Exhibition Hall, Xinhehua Chinese Herbal Pieces Co., Ltd., and the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Street” in Jiezi Ancient Town, Chongzhou, among other institutions. They gained first-hand experience of Sichuan’s practical achievements in TCM clinical practice, TCM education, cultural preservation, the production of Chinese herbal pieces and the development of industrial platforms. The delegation also visited Dujiangyan Panda Valley, Zhongshuge and Guanxian Ancient City, experiencing Chengdu’s profound historical and cultural heritage and its everyday wellness culture rooted in the concept that “medicine and food share the same origin.”

This study visit is the third consecutive Taiwan TCM teachers and students exchange program organized by our hospital, following those in 2024 and 2025. From the visit and exchange in November 2024, to the six-day study visit organized by the hospital in July 2025, and to this eight-day in-depth program, the project has continued to expand in participant scale, itinerary content and depth of exchange, and has gradually become a branded platform for regular interaction between TCM teachers and students across the Taiwan Strait. Our hospital will continue to leverage its strengths in clinical practice, education and culture to promote mutual learning and common development in the TCM field across the Taiwan Strait.
