On the morning of May 30th at 6 a.m., Zhang Xuemei, a physician of our hospital and also a member of the fourth batch of the Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine medical team assisting Cambodia, set off with her team to the Prey Veng Provincial Hospital to participate in a large-scale free clinic. Local villagers had begun traveling from all directions as early as 3:30 a.m., and long lines had already formed in the waiting area. Facing nearly 300 patient visits, Zhang Xuemei and her teammates immediately threw themselves into diagnosis and treatment, diligently applying the four TCM diagnostic methods — observing, listening and smelling, questioning, and pulse-taking. For common conditions such as neck, shoulder, lower back and leg pain, insomnia, and gastrointestinal disorders, acupuncture became the "star therapy" due to its rapid effects. For patients with chronic conditions requiring ongoing care, they prescribed Chinese patent medicines based on syndrome differentiation and provided guidance on diet as well as simple acupoint massage. The scene was orderly, and the diagnosis and treatment process ran smoothly. After the free clinic concluded, the Prey Veng Provincial Hospital presented a letter of thanks to the medical team. Zhang Xuemei expressed that she would continue to work closely with her teammates, delivering high-quality TCM services to the Cambodian people wherever they are most needed, and contributing to the building of a China-Cambodia community of health for all.
