On the afternoon of March 20, Dr. Carlos Guillermo Ramos, Associate Clinical Director of Neonatology and Professor of Pediatrics at UC San Diego Health, visited our hospital for clinical academic exchanges.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on integrated TCM-Western medicine practices for neonatal and pediatric diseases, as well as the distinctive advantages of TCM clinical therapies. Deputy Director of Pediatrics (Acting Director) Sun Xiangjuan and Neonatal Department Head Guan Lirong detailed notable outcomes achieved through TCM-specific therapies like herbal compresses, medicinal baths, and pediatric massage in treating neonatal and childhood conditions.

Following the meeting, Dr. Ramos toured the pediatric outpatient clinic and neonatal ward, observing TCM therapeutic techniques in practice. He subsequently visited the acupuncture department, and he studied and experienced Chuzhen (pestle needle) therapy - a national intangible cultural heritage item of TCM.
